    BARCELONA [November 24] – After two days of evidence and testimonies presented from witnesses and experts around the ecocide, genocide, and forced starvation of the Palestinian people in Gaza, the “Right to Resist” International People’s Tribunal on Palestine has found the defendants guilty of genocide, ecocide, and forced starvation. Convened by the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS), International People’s Front (IPF), and the People’s Coalition on Food Sovereignty (PCFS) and endorsed by over 240 organizations, the Tribunal found Israel as the principal perpetrator of these crimes and the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany complicit in aiding, abetting, and enabling the crimes found in the verdict. The following day, a contingent of organizers and attendees of the Tribunal delivered the verdict to the Israeli consulate in Barcelona, to which the Israeli consulate did not respond. 

    The 1st day saw 11 witnesses give testimony of evidence regarding both genocide and ecocide, from the likes of Raji Sourani from the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, Dr. Omar Nashabe of Lebanon, and Maria Zendrera with the Global Sumud Flotilla. The proof of intent on the deliberate destruction of Gaza’s environment at-large, the destruction of all means of the ability to sustain life beyond the complete blockade, and the day-to-day impact on the Palestinian people was highlighted in the evidence delivered.

    The 2nd day of the Tribunal explicated on much of the same topics and included 5 witness testimonies. With the court in session, the prosecution began with the effects on women in a written testimony on Day 1 from Nadia Bakri, a feminist and human rights activist that served as director of the Women’s Affairs Staff in Gaza for 30 years before being forcibly displaced to Egypt due to the genocidal war. “There has been a deliberate targeting of women’s health centers and clinics in order to stop Palestinian people from reproducing, in line with Zionist strategy,” stated Suzanne Adely of the National Lawyers Guild, the Tribunal prosecutor representing Bakri. 

    The jurors then intervened with their own line of questioning to Raji Sourani and Dr. Omar Nashabe in order to clarify different aspects of their testimonies. 

    Sourani was asked by the prosecution about the recent historical precedent behind the UN Security Council’s recent vote around Trump’s ‘peace’ plan. He responded with, “There isn’t one word about the unalienable right of Palestinian people, the occupation is institutionalized, and supported more by the American presidencies who are involved directly with the genocide and supporting Israel directly. . . 30 years ago, we were extremely critical about the Oslo Accords which did not mention anything about ending the occupation and self-determination – and that was intentional.” 

    Dr. Nashabe added during his portion that it is not only a genocide or ecocide stating, “I’d like to reiterate that the ecocide and genocide is a fundamental part of this policy of total extermination. It can’t take place by just killing people, but you have to kill all forms of life that will allow the people to rebuild. It is a metacide, the destruction of everything.” Furthermore, he spoke about the schism within the United Nations due to this ‘peace’ plan and the deep crisis within the intergovernmental body, “What other kind of creative, destructive, violent tactics can [Israel] come up with now when they haven’t been able to achieve their vile, obscene objective? We are going through a crisis in international law never seen before – this is like George Orwell’s 1984 on an unseen scale.”

    After the jurors’ line of questioning, the 5 witnesses testified on the stand either in-person, over Zoom, or through pre-recorded videos on the collective punishment, deliberate targeting of entire families, intentional blockades of food and water, direct targeting of farmers and fisherfolk by airstrikes and settler mobs, and even direct evidence of systematic repression and silencing of Palestinian voices by other states in collusion with the Zionist government.

    Mushier Ek Farra, an activist and filmmaker that was in the midst of a project centering on the plight of Gaza’s fisherpeople until 2023, was the first witness on the stand. He spoke on the collective punishment inflicted in Gaza right from the beginning of the genocide, as soon as October 9th, 2023. He stated, “In one instance, 67 people were killed and 52 houses were destroyed to target a Hamas operative. That is collective punishment which even one of the accused [Joe Biden] has condemned.”

    After Ek Farra, two written testimonies from Gaza – first a collection of testimonies from an activist, then a worker – were delivered by the prosecution. The collection of testimonies were procured through great difficulty due to the chilling effect from 172 journalists deliberately killed in their role of revealing the truth to the world. One of the Palestinian farmers willing to testify stated, “Israeli tanks and bulldozers entered the land to destroy and raze it again, cutting irrigation networks, destroying water sources like agricultural ponds and wells, and shredding the remnants of the trees into very small pieces with massive machines.” In line with that, the testimony of the worker from Gaza illustrated the strategy behind this destruction, “The aim was to inflict the largest possible number of deaths and injuries among civilians and medical personnel to force them to leave northern Gaza.”

    3 real-time Zoom testimonies along with videos of Palestinian farmers and fisherpeople conducted by a journalist who gave his own written testimony followed. Throughout the video testimonies, the strategy of complete destruction – not just of killing people en masse, but destroying the basic means to assure their existence – were exhibited throughout. In particular, the dire situation and sheer destruction of Gaza’s sole port was illustrated, compounding on the complete blockade that Israel has imposed, “The port, heavily bombarded with roughly 26 rockets on the third day of the war, was split in half. About 95% of fishing boats were destroyed. There is a deliberate strategy to create famine: the occupation closes crossings, blocks the entry of food supplies, and prevents fishermen from feeding our people.”

    The real-time Zoom testimonies began with Mohammad el Bakri, an engineer specializing in agricultural infrastructure and board member of the Urban Agriculture Forum, “They have destroyed [the crops], there is nothing now. In the north and south of Gaza, all this land is agricultural land and Israel has not allowed anybody to access or reach this land. There is no income, there is no water as it’s polluted — the sewage water has gone into aquifers directly.” Founder and director of the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability at Bethlehem University, Mazin B. Qumsiyeh, added to this point in his testimony and illustrated how this is connected to the strategy of occupation of Israel in the West Bank as well, which has escalated to unprecedented heights since 2023. He stated, “In the West Bank, they are draining the wetland of the Hula, redirecting waters of the Jordan River to their settlements, and uprooting millions of indigenous trees to plant an invasive monoculture of European trees. This squeezes remaining indigenous Palestinians into “concentration areas” and refugee camps increasingly surrounded by environmentally damaging walls and military infrastructures.”

    As the environmental aspects of ecocide and the many aspects to genocide aside from mass slaughter being thoroughly investigated, Dr. Diana Nazzal’s testimony touched on the devastating health impacts from the forced starvation, and hyperinflation along with targeting aid recipients as an aspect of the starvation. “The hair becomes thin and lost, the nails become brittle, the concentration and mental health of people become very poor, and their whole life becomes about how they can get their next meal,” stated Nazzal. “The hospitals would always prepare for when the Gaza Humanitarian Fund was providing ‘aid’ because children were deliberately killed – it was another example of using humanitarian aid to commit genocide.”

    A kilogram of the following foodstuff had risen to these exorbitant prices, showcasing the impact of the complete blockade through land, air, and sea aside from the ecocide:

    • Tomatoes: 163 euros in the North; 17 euros in the South
    • Meat: 175 euros in the North; 95 euros in the South
    • Flour: 1000 euros in the North; 90 euros in the South
    • Sugar: 46 euros in the North; 40 euros in the South
    • Coffee: 135 euros throughout Gaza

    Throughout the testimonies around the massive destruction of Gaza’s environment, the massive loss of life and ability to sustain life, and the countless violation of international humanitarian law, the experts and witnesses all resolved that the true solution to end the horror inflicted by the Zionist entity is the struggle of the Palestinian people for self-determination. From the witnesses and experts:

    • Mushier Ek Farra: “[Those killed through collective punishment] are people I knew who were not even part of the resistance, I would have supported their resistance, but they were just civilians. . . We need support out of solidarity, not charity. This is a political matter, we must extend our political support first and then sympathize. The same oil, mining, and timber companies destroying Gaza are destroying the rest of the world.”
    • Dr. Diana Nazzal: “We want to have our land and right to self-determination and be left alone. We are able to build our own society but we aren’t given the chance to do so.”
    • Mazin B. Qumsiyeh: “Only we, the Palestinian people, can challenge against our corrupt leaders and the occupation”

    After the testimonies came to a close, the lead prosecutor – Jan Fermon – delivered his final statement:

    “I would say, from a broader perspective, we do have to say that this is even beyond genocide and ecocide–and that is metacide: the destruction of everything. I think that terminology is absolutely appropriate with what we’ve been hearing and witnessing. . . The liberation of Palestine is the work of the Palestinians. The work of the rest of us is solidarity. Nazism was brought down by the resistance of the people of the world. The US intervention in Vietnam was ended by the struggle of the Vietnamese people and the solidarity of the people of the world. Apartheid was brought down by the struggle of the South African people and the solidarity of the people of the world.”

    At the end of the jurors’ deliberation, they delivered the verdict: finding Israel, the United States, and other complicit entities guilty of genocide, ecocide, and forced starvation – finding Israel as the principal perpetrator of these crimes and the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany complicit in aiding, abetting, and enabling the crimes found in the verdict. “Free, free Palestine!” rang through the hall, with attendees celebrating the decision, and committing to use the findings to exact justice and accountability in the streets through mass mobilizations and action in solidarity with the Palestinian peoples’ struggle for self-determination.

    Earlier today, organizers and attendees of the Tribunal took a copy of the full verdict produced by the jurors to the Zionist consulate and held a demonstration. Representatives of the Zionist occupation refused to attend the Tribunal and subsequently refused to receive a copy of the verdict.

    Throughout the two days of testimonies and evidence, the final guilty verdict of the International People’s Tribunal stands in line with what international institutions have also determined, but have either moved too slowly on or have wholly ignored. The verdict, based on a mountain of evidence showcasing Israel’s and US’s clear intent and exposing the ecocide rarely touched in the mainstream narrative, has put the power into the hands of the people to exact justice and accountability in solidarity with Palestinian people’s right to and struggle for self-determination.

    The verdict serves only as a start. True justice will only be found through continued movement building and mass actions in the streets and in any venue possible if advocacy efforts will have any hope of contributing to justice and accountability. What the Tribunal proved is that true justice belongs with the people, and the people will fight for it until the end of all economic, political, military, and diplomatic support from Israel.

    BARCELONA [November 22] – The International People’s Tribunal for Palestine (IPT) convened for its first day on Saturday November 22, 2025 at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA) in Barcelona, Spain, hosted by the International League of Peoples’ Struggle, International People’s Front, and Peoples’ Coalition for Food Sovereignty to strengthen solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for self-determination and to exact justice and accountability against the U.S., Israel, and all other complicit entities. 

    With over 240 endorsing organizations and close to 150 people in attendance, the IPT showcased the power of a people’s tribunal: a quasi-judicial forum that gives the people the power in their hands to gather evidence and charge the defendants in the context of a people’s movement that will aid the demands of true justice that will be found on the streets instead of drawn-out legal processes that does not hold the occupation to justice, as currently seen with the ICJ and ICC which have failed to uphold their duty to the people of Palestine and the world by prosecuting the executors of genocide and ecocide.

    On the first day of the Tribunal, November 22, the prosecution presented two sets of evidence for the Tribunal: first on genocide, and then on ecocide. 

    It first opened with the opening and welcome remarks from key convening and endorsing organizations of the Tribunal with the following speakers: Victor Garces, Vice-Chair Internal of the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS), Razan Zuayter, Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) and Global co-Chairperson of People’s Coalition for Food Sovereignty (PCFS), and Saif Abukashek, Global Movement to Gaza

    They touched on the main points that would be raised throughout the whole day: the right of the Palestinian people along with all oppressed people to resist, the protection of land and the environment as an inviolable right of a people, and the need for global solidarity and direct action that the Tribunal promoted. As Saif Abukashek stated, “I invite anyone to take the results of this Tribunal and place it into your direct actions, the voice of those oppressed have to be taken into action for liberation.”

    Shortly after, the esteemed panel of IPT jurors entered. They showcased a wide display of perspectives that have centered on human and peoples’ rights in their past work and their current role at the Tribunal to deliver a verdict in line with the will of the people instead of the brute force of imperialism that uses the facade of law. 

    Eleven expert and witness testimonies were presented from individuals who have experienced the genocide first hand as well as those outside Palestine who have been part of solidarity movements such as the Global Sumud Flotilla. Of note, many of the witnesses are still actively living in the midst of the zone of death that Israel has created and sustained through its genocidal rampage over the last two years. Ranging from topics such as the direct targeting of civilians through mass bombings perpetrated by the Zionist occupation, to proving the intent of ecocide against the Palestinian people, the witness testimonies painted the tone of the day: an ever surmounting amount of evidence on the crimes against the Zionist state.

    On the genocide, one of the witnesses testified to experiencing extreme loss of her family. Through the incessant bombing by the Zionist entity, with each bomb fully paid for by the United States and other governments, she lost over 280 family members over the last 2 years. Entire families and generations have been wiped out through indiscriminate bombings, stated another witness. The Palestinian people in Gaza have faced a complete blockade over the course of this genocide, even worse than the one instituted in 2005, to the point of targeting citizens from across the world. Testifying as a witness from the Global Sumud Flotilla, they stated “There was a lot of help and aid waiting to enter Gaza. The problem is not the lack of aid, but the blockade.” On that point, another witness testified to the plight of the fisherpeople in Gaza who are intentionally being targeted in order to exacerbate the forced starvation: “Approximately 700 fishing boats have been destroyed by Zionist aircrafts…This is a deliberate strategy to create famine, the occupation closes crossings, blocks the entry of food supplies and prevents fishermen from feeding our people.”

    As stated by lead prosecutor Jan Fermon, “There are many aspects to genocide that is not just one aspect, but several aspects like forced starvation and ecocide, it is a systematic policy,” leading into the next portion of the Tribunal: on ecocide. In particular, one witness displayed the scope and scale of the ecocide in Gaza since 2023:

    “100,000 tons of explosives were dropped on Gaza equivalent to nine bombs the size of nuclear weapons. 80 % of the water infrastructure was compromised. Of the 162 municipal wells, only 17 % remain functional. About 70 % of the agricultural sector was totally wiped out. Around 140 temporary landfills—holding more than one million tonnes of waste are situated near residential areas or on the edges of refugee camps. The massive amount of explosives generated hazardous chemical reactions whose health impact consequences will likely emerge in the near future. . . In short, the description portrays Gaza as having been transformed into an environment that is no longer suitable for human life due to widespread, systematic, and intentional ecological destruction.”

    The two expert testimonies covered the two sets of evidence, on genocide and ecocide. Some notable quotes from the testimonies were:

    “Since when does a criminal occupation have a right to defense? We are the ones who have the right to defense and self-determination. . . We will never give up. We have no right to give up. We will be true to the blood of all those who gave their lives, and we will never lose hope and will keep strategic optimism in our hearts and minds.”

    “We can mass mobilize for ecocide to be included in the Rome Statute, but what is the use of [ecocide] being in the Rome Statute? We are here for a People’s Tribunal because there is a failure of the Tribunal of the Hague, that they could not stop the genocide and ecocide, and that it is for the people that recognize humanity and law to demand.”

    In the end, the defense did not submit any documents to the jurors nor show up to the Tribunal, showing their blatant disregard for the Palestinian people and those in solidarity against the US-Zionist occupation. In an exchange between the head juror Ceren Uysal and the expert testimony:

    “I wish the defense would ask me a question.”

    “I think an empty table speaks a lot.”

    As Day 1 of the Tribunal has closed, the jurors are set to hear another set of evidence from experts and witnesses and deliberate to come to a verdict on Day 2 of the Tribunal.     Zionist settlers have been placing their bodies in front of aid trucks bound for Gaza during the genocidal war amidst Israel’s full blockade. Even on the incredibly small occasions that Israeli forces have let in trucks, they have allowed settlers to block these trucks and have done nothing to stop them.

    In some cases, whole families including children of settlers have gone out together to block aid trucks, taking pictures together to brag openly about breaking international law with impunity.

    It is a war crime to deliberately block food from a whole population of people, an act that Israel has committed every day since the 2005 blockade of Gaza began. Yet it has even become an act committed by civilians (albeit civilians with mandatory military conscription duties) to find joy and pride in. Bringing children along for such an act normalizes acts of genocide and ecocide for the next generation as well, further cementing the Zionist settler occupation.

    Even before October 7 2023, at least 600 aid trucks were needed to enter Gaza daily in order to sustain the people living there. Occupation forces then publicly announced that they would not allow any more food in, and immediately acted on that promise. 

    In July 2025 alone, over 12,000 children were identified as acutely malnourished—the highest monthly figure ever recorded, and at least 350 people, including 151 children, have died from starvation (UN).

    We must hold the entire Zionist occupation accountable for these crimes, as well as the US government that has prevented accountability at every step. Support the International People’s Tribunal for Palestine this November 22 – 23 in Barcelona.

    According to a report by Haaretz, Israeli forces are dumping industrial waste from infrastructure work and base construction used by occupation soldiers. This includes massive amounts of construction waste, rubble, and debris from even settlements outside of Gaza.

    Footage showed trucks owned by private companies driving roughly 200–300 meters inside Gaza to dump the waste before turning back to load and dump more.

    The decision to undertake these waste dumps were made at the highest level by field commanders. When asked what the future plans for these waste dumps were, Zionist commanders simply said, “foreign countries involved in Gaza’s postwar reconstruction will eventually clean it up,” placing the burden on vague external actors.

    Waste dumps leak heavy metals such as lead and mercury, as well as volatile organic compounds such as benzene into the soil, along with petroleum byproducts and microplastics. These can last for generations and become a lasting presence in the food and drinking water in the area.

    This is a deliberate move by the Zionist occupation to make Gaza unlivable as a means to destroy the sovereignty of the people over the land. As the Palestinian people fight to assert their sovereignty, we must fight alongside them to hold the Zionist occupation and their US government backers accountable for their blatant acts of ecocide.

    The Zionist occupation and its US backers are systematically using starvation as a weapon of war against the people of Gaza to break their will to fight.

    But it is much more than just withholding food from Gazans. The occupation has deliberately destroyed Gaza’s ability to produce food for itself.

    Over 86% of Gaza’s cropland was damaged or destroyed between October 2023 and July 2025, according to a report from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UN Satellite Centre (UNOSAT).

    Since July 28, 2025, only 1.5% of Gaza’s agricultural land has been accessible and undamaged.

    By September 2024, at least 58% of all greenhouses had been damaged, and hundreds of wells were destroyed, which has crippled irrigation. In northern Gaza and Gaza City, nearly all greenhouses were destroyed by the end of 2023.

    In addition to the direct destruction, the soil is also being contaminated by debris, munitions, and raw sewage due to damaged sanitation systems.

    The October 2025 ceasefire agreement placed most of Gaza’s agricultural area in the so-called “yellow line” still being held by Zionist occupation forces.

    The ecocide of Gaza has ceased to let up. This is why the people must charge the Zionist occupation and US government this November 22-23 in Barcelona.

    BARCELONA, SPAIN  [October 27] – The International People’s Tribunal, set to convene in Barcelona on November 22-23, welcomes the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) recent advisory opinion demanding Israel allow aid into Gaza and cooperate with the UN, while also decrying the longstanding slowness of international bodies to effectively intervene in the ongoing genocide and ecocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

    On October 22nd, the ICJ delivered a non-binding opinion stating that the Israeli government must allow international aid agencies such as UNRWA to deliver humanitarian aid as provisioned in the ceasefire agreement agreed upon by both the Palestinian resistance and Israel. This comes after a lengthy series of violations by Israel against the recent ceasefire agreement, including but not limited to vast aerial bombings of Gaza that have killed at least 87 Palestinians and cutting down aid allowed into Gaza by half. The Court added that Israel has been using starvation as a method of war, a more explicit stance on the forced starvation of the Palestinian people in Gaza than previously expressed. 

    While this opinion is welcomed by all peace-loving people that stand against the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza, it also comes after countless other issuances by international institutions such as the ICJ that fail to see both the asymmetric nature between an occupying power and an occupied people, and also the root cause of the forced starvation, which is the ecocide that has destroyed over 98.5% of Gaza’s farmland.

    “Even as the ICJ’s recent opinion goes further than it has previously against the occupying power of Israel, it still is effectively only a slap on the wrist,” states Edre Olalia, president of the International Alliance of Democratic Lawyers. He adds, “Even with the progress of the court’s decision, it does not address the root cause of the need for aid or its facilitation, which is the ecocide, nor the fact that an occupied people have a right to resist under the UN’s own charter and laws.”

    This opinion also comes after Israel’s repeated efforts over the last year to ban UNRWA through baseless claims that it, along with other international entities within Gaza, has been infiltrated by so-called “terrorists”, a ploy to both falsely terror tag the Palestinian resistance and to justify their campaign of genocide. The ICJ has affirmed this, stating that none of these allegations have been substantiated. However, it has not nor will not reverse the de facto ban of UNRWA in the region due to its lack of binding power and lack of support for the main solution to ending the genocide: the right for the Palestinian people to resist. 

    “Occupations have never been ended through these so-called legal decisions, but rather the political movements in solidarity with the resistance and moreover the resistance itself against the occupying power,” says Azra Sayeed, the Secretary-General of the International League of People’s Struggle.

    BARCELONA, SPAIN [October 15] – Lead up events are taking place in anticipation of the International People’s Tribunal for Palestine in Barcelona on November 22nd-23rd. It is convened by the International League of People’s Struggle (ILPS) alongside the Peoples’ Coalition on Food Sovereignty and the International People’s Front. Endorsers include the International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL), Palestine Land Studies Centre for Development and Belonging, Indian Dancers for Gaza’s Children, Peace for Life, and over 60 other organizations, some of whom spoke at the most recent event on October 12th around the history of struggle of th Palestinian people against US-backed Israeli occupation. Here are select quotes from each of the speakers.

    Oz Karahan, ILPS: “Despite the horrific onslaught being unleashed by the Zionist occupation, backed by the US to the amount of $318 billion, two years ago, the Palestinian people and their resistance forces bravely asserted their right to resist the Zionist occupation through the Al-Aqsa flood campaign. It is the unbeatable resistance of the people that has brought every ceasefire into existence and made it impossible for the Zionist project to eliminate the Palestinian people. ‘Right to Resist, the Palestinian People vs. the Zionist Occupation and the U.S. Government’, is an international people’s tribunal on the U.S.-backed Zionist Occupation’s war of forced starvation and ecocide in Palestine.” 

    Wael El Zaray, Palestine Land Studies Center for Development and Belonging: “Since the Nakba of 1948, an unequal colonial economic relationship has taken shape between the Zionist entity and the Palestinian people, where the Palestinian people do not have any control over their resources and economy and the Zionist authorities have considered the expansion of settlements all over the Palestinian territory as necessary for the security. To resume the struggle of Palestinian people, we have a people who have endured dispossession since 1948, military occupation, fragmentation between the West Bank and Gaza, and throughout it all the Palestinian identity has not only survived, it has been forged in fire. The central demands remain the right to self-determination and an end to the occupation, and a just solution for the refugees.”

    Wael El Zaray, Palestine Land Studies Center for Development and Belonging: “The story of Palestinian struggle is not over. It’s a story of profound injustice, but also one of incredible resilience. It’s a story that continues to be written every day by students, activists, farmers, who are trying to return to their homeland.”

    Suzanne Adely, National Lawyers Guild in the US and International Association of Democratic Lawyers: “Tribunals offer a narrative of people’s struggles that counter imperialist and racist narratives that are upheld through very wide systems of counterinsurgency. They empower victims. They provide a vital forum for survivors, for families of survivors, for affected communities to present their experiences, at times when no other forums are willing to hear these testimonies, to hear these stories. People’s tribunals are very powerful to help us build the kind of political clarity that we need to take these fights for justice as far as they need to go.”

    Sara Flounders, International Action Center and United National Anti-War Coalition in the US: “When we say that Israel is a U.S. proxy army, they describe it themselves as their unsinkable aircraft carrier in the region and their role from the beginning was to make war not only on the indigenous Palestinian population, but also on the surrounding Arab countries who were in a revolutionary ferment against colonial domination. Now, it turns out, it was a bad investment, because they’re unable to defeat a determined people’s movement.”

    Indian Dancers for Gaza’s Children: “Today, we are endorsing the International People’s Tribunal because we believe in the power of the people, the power of ordinary citizens around the world. We have seen governments around the world failing us miserably in their inability to stop the ongoing genocide, to stop Israel, and to hold it accountable for its numerous violations of international law and the grave atrocities that it is committing against the Palestinian people. We know that millions of people around the world have done extraordinary things to try to stop this genocide, that is one of the other reasons why we’re putting our faith in them, and not our government.”

    Peace for Life: “Considering the blatant disregard of Israel and the United States of the basic rights and dignity of the Palestinian people since 1948, this International People’s Tribunal is a monumental step towards achieving justice for the Palestinian people and accountability for crimes committed against them by the Zionist Israel in complicity with the imperialist United States. We therefore enjoin other organizations and peoples of the world to endorse this International People’s Tribunal for Palestine to be held in Barcelona, Spain, this coming November.”

    Since the start of the ceasefire between the Palestinian resistance forces and the US-backed Zionist entity of “Israel”, the Zionists have violated the ceasefire agreement on multiple occasions. As much as 40 have been killed at the time of this writing. Only 300 to 400 food trucks have been allowed to enter daily while the deal promised 600, leaving many in Gaza starving while much-needed food sits on the other side of the Rafah Crossing. Zionist forces have remained in some of the zones of Gaza despite agreeing to withdraw during the ceasefire. 

    !ll Zionist captives have been returned by the resistance to “Israel” in generally good health, with the exception of those killed by the Zionists themselves during the relentless bombardment, many whose bodies are still unable to be found. Meanwhile, Palestinian prisoners have been returned with clear marks of torture, malnourishment and abuse at the hands of Zionist prison guards, with bodies being returned with marks of torture and summary executions.

    All this comes as voices in the Zionist government call for continuing the genocidal war and Trump threatens the Palestinian resistance with “destruction” if they do not turn over their arms. Yet, the resistance stands firmly by their right to resist the occupation and defend their people’s lives and aspirations for self-determination. This was made clear in their acknowledgement that they would discuss disarmament only with a Palestinian-led unity government without foreign intervention, and this assertion was made even as the agreement was signed by all parties. Despite backtracking by the US and Zionists, the Palestinian resistance has not violated a single one of their promises from the ceasefire.

    In the midst of these negotiations, Gaza continues to lay in ruins, with an environment made unlivable by the Zionists who wish nothing more than to see the people of Gaza dead or displaced completely. While the people remain steadfast, the ecocide persists and will last for a long time without immediate action from the world’s people to hold the US-Zionist occupation accountable.

    The Palestinian resistance and the Zionist government have agreed to terms for a ceasefire to halt the genocidal war in Gaza, release and exchange captives, and begin the process of Zionist withdrawal from Gaza. The fact that the Zionists were forced to agree to halting the genocidal assault and withdraw their forces is a testament to the unbreakable unity and steadfastness of the Palestinian people to remain on their land by any means necessary. It also attests to the clear-eyed response of their resistance forces who refused to give up Palestinian sovereignty over Gaza. Trump didn’t “broker” a ceasefire, Palestine won it.

    But the Palestinian people’s right to resist does not stop with a ceasefire. In fact, it is a reminder that only through brave peoples’ struggle will justice ever be won. And while a momentary ceasefire is something to celebrate, justice for the Palestinian people is far from achieved.

    The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that at least 44 Palestinians were killed and nearly 100 injured by occupation forces across the Gaza Strip while negotiations were underway, including 18 in Gaza City alone. And even after the ceasefire was declared there were immediate violations by the occupation forces. We must not forget how the last ceasefire was violated by the Zionists on a daily basis until they unilaterally ended it and renewed their assault. The Zionists will do whatever they can to hold onto as much of Gaza as they can while the US and other imperialists will push to replace Palestinian sovereignty with a board of foreign investors to govern Gaza for the benefit of venture capitalists and real estate developers.

    What is clear is that the Palestinian people’s resistance must have the full support of all peace and freedom loving people around the world, and the world must continue to act arm in arm with them in holding the Zionist occupation and US government accountable for the crimes of genocide, including systematic ecocide and forced starvation.

    The Right to Resist: International People’s Tribunal for Palestine hails the bravery and sacrifice of the Palestinian people for asserting their self-determination and winning a ceasefire from the US-Zionist forces that sought, but were unable, to destroy them. It is further resolved to hold its Tribunal this November 22 to 23 in Barcelona to indict the US-Zionist forces for their crimes and memorialize the struggle of the Palestinian people and freedom-loving peoples of the world for the historical record and as moral inspiration for political action.

    Statement of the International People’s Tribunal for Palestine on October 7, 2025

    Two years ago on October 7 2023, the Palestinian people and their resistance forces bravely asserted their right to resist the Zionist occupation. Referring to their operation ever since as Al Aqsa Flood, their bravery and boldness to struggle reached unprecedented heights and put into question the impenetrability and invincibility of the Zionist occupation entity, a fascist military regime completely armed and protected by US imperialism. While hypocritically painted as a “terrorist operation” by the latter two governments, arguably the number one terrorist alliance in the world today, Al Aqsa Flood is instead seen by the vast majority of the world’s struggling peoples as a shining example of what it means to assert one’s collective right to resist and live on one’s own land by any means necessary.

    It is in this spirit of the right to resist occupation, enshrined within international law and aspired for by all freedom and peace loving peoples, that the International Peoples’ Front, the International League of Peoples’ Struggle, and the People’s Coalition for Food Sovereignty have launched “Right to Resist: The Palestinian People vs. The Zionist Occupation and the US Government,” an International People’s Tribunal set to be held in Barcelona this coming November 22 to 23. The Tribunal will put on trial the US-Backed Zionist Occupation’s war of forced starvation and ecocide in Palestine.

    It will present evidence from key witnesses and experts to expose the extent of the Zionist occupation’s genocidal use of ecocide and forced starvation against the people of Palestine, the complicit role of the US and other backers of the occupation’s crimes such as the UK, France, Germany and others, and so-called private entities like the US and Zionist-led Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. Using public testimony of survivors of the crimes first hand and expert analysis, this International People’s Tribunal will put the war crimes of forced starvation and ecocide in full view of the world’s governments and demand that they act to stop the genocidal crimes being perpetrated on the Palestinian people. 

    The Tribunal will bring together people and organizations from around the world to not only shine the light on the genocidal crime of ecocide, but will show that it is only through the Palestinian people’s own resistance that the genocidal assault will end. It will arm the Palestine solidarity movement around the world with the tools to expose their governments’ and other institutions’ complicity while asserting full heartedly the right of the people to fight back.

    The Genocidal War of Ecocide

    For the last two years, the Zionist regime has retaliated with a barbarity unprecedented in its 77 years of occupation, an act that has been near-universally labeled as genocide and a war of extermination against all of Palestine by people and international institutions alike. It has incessantly and indiscriminately bombed and started a population of 2.2 million people, leading to the direct deaths of what is estimated to be well over 60,000 human beings, more than half of them women and children.

    What is rarely factored into public perspectives of the genocidal war against Palestine is the deliberate weapon of ecocide, defined as the severe, systematic, widespread and long-term deliberate destruction of the environment and natural resources.  Under this ecocide, people, including children, are dying from forced starvation and dehydration. And yet, the ecocidal war is overlooked, even though these deaths are estimated to overshadow direct deaths almost tenfold, with some estimates as high as 680,000.

    Available reports show that, by September 2024, at least 58% of all greenhouses had been damaged, and hundreds of wells were destroyed, which has crippled irrigation. In northern Gaza and Gaza City, nearly all greenhouses were destroyed by the end of 2023. By July 28, 2025, only 1.5% of Gaza’s agricultural land was both accessible and undamaged. The Gazan Ministry of Health has reported that as of September 19, 2025, malnutrition-related deaths had reached 440 since October 2023, including 147 children. In a single 24-hour period in late August, 10 deaths from starvation and malnutrition were reported, including two children.

    In Gaza, food has been utilized as a weapon much earlier than October 7th 2023. In the year 2007, Israel imposed a blockade on food, setting a calorie count designed to keep Palestinians hungry but ‘not die of hunger,’ and as one “Israeli” official stated, to keep Gaza’s economy on the brink of collapse.”In all of “Israel’s” 15 brutal wars on Gaza since 1947, people’s food systems were systematically devastated.  But this time the aim is not for Palestinians to go hungry, but to die from hunger.

    “Israel’s” direct assault on the ability of Gaza’s people to produce their own food is a method to remove their ability to live on the land of Palestine. They are manufacturing an ecological disaster to force Palestinians to leave or die so that illegal Zionist resettlement can take place.

    The International People’s Tribunal Channels the Historic Fight of the People

    Despite the horrific onslaught being unleashed by the Zionist occupation, backed by the US to the amount of $318 billion in weapons since 1948 with $17.9 billion alone since October 7 2023, the people of Palestine have never backed down.

    The Al Aqsa Flood is the product of generational resistance against the ongoing genocide and Zionist extermination campaign since 1947 to seize all the land of Palestine. The Palestinian resistance is acting in the best interests of the Palestinian people, as they have been targeting and exposing the Zionist occupation for its crimes with the goal to end its hold over their people. Viewing the resistance forces as the legitimate representatives of their interests, the Palestinian people have never given up the struggle for liberation from the brutal Zionist occupation.

    The people of the world, therefore, must stand with the people of Palestine and loudly defend their right to resist to end the genocidal war of ecocide and achieve national liberation.

    The International People’s Tribunal for Palestine will be a means by which the people of the world can actively express their solidarity and force an end to the complicity in imperialist-backed genocide. The Tribunal shall memorialize the struggle of the Palestinian people for the historical record and serve as a moral inspiration for further political action. This Tribunal has its lineage in the people’s tribunals from the Russell Tribunal on Vietnam to the recent International Tribunal on the Philippines. It shall contribute to the accumulation and snowballing of resistance and protests worldwide.

    Set to convene this November 22 to 23 in Barcelona, the Tribunal will also be preceded by a build-up campaign of political education, solidarity mobilizations, and other activities. In Barcelona, key witnesses including survivors of the genocide in Palestine will give testimony to not only the horrors of genocide and ecocide, but to the steadfast will of the Palestinian people to continue the fight. While the international institutions of the world stand by, the people will deliver their verdict and demand justice through continued solidarity and movement building.

    Through the Tribunal, the Palestinian people, with international solidarity, will exercise their mandate to try the perpetrators of these war crimes, including presenting evidence and delivering testimony to the international community. This is integral to amplifying the Palestinian people’s collective right to self-determination and the struggle for national liberation to the world.

    Our Tribunal will reclaim the power of judgment from those who have weaponized international law to protect perpetrators. It says to the people of Palestine: We see you. We will not be silent. And we will not wait for justice from courts that never deliver it to the oppressed.

    This is our call to all of you: join us in building this tribunal, in amplifying the truth, in mobilizing global solidarity. Because the crimes against Palestine cannot be left to history books, they must be confronted now, with the full moral force of the people of the world. Let us make this Tribunal a space where truth is spoken clearly, power is named courageously, and the path toward justice for Palestine becomes undeniable.
